This project emerged as part of some cosmetic improvements to a Boston home. The original opening contained an out-dated and leaky window planter box.

The vision was to replace the planter box window with a statement piece of stained glass that would let in light to fill the space and the stairwell while offering a bit of privacy from the neighbors.

This piece is paired with another piece – a Transom Window – bringing a more victorian look to the house.

What I love about this piece – the yellow and light teal colored glass is recycled from original panes salvaged from the tragic loss of the Mount Vernon Church on Mass Ave in Boston. So it is fitting that the glass finds a new home in Boston.

The original pieces from the Mount Vernon church needed to be dis-assembled, cleaned, and then integrated into a new piece to fit the window box opening.
