Someone had asked about a stained glass mirror – a glass frame surrounding a mirror.
I’d seen some examples of stained glass mirrors in the past and was feeling a desire to explore geometric patterns – a common design approach for stained glass pieces.
That led to this piece – wrapping a bit of “geometry” around a re-purposed mirror.
With some “blue” remnants, the framing for the mirror was relatively simple – certainly not wanting to detract (too much!) from those who are using the mirror for other purposes :-0

As always, something to learn from this piece – when hung on a wall, stained glass never gets “back lighting” – putting different constraints on the glass choices – better opaque rather than transparent. For instance, in this piece, the corners are a bright red glass – when hanging on the wall, you really can’t tell – they just look “dark”.
Time to explore adding real color into this sort of piece. What do you think?
